He pulls my hair,
bites my skin,
comes at me slowly.

all my blood blooms.
My eyes squeeze shut

maybe i’m a mermaid
in my blue jeans,
or a poem that’s never been written.
but what are the chances i’ll ever be anything tangible
or completed.
i could make you promises of my potential
but i know that words are only
sounds from the mouth,
and don’t mean a thing
unless
some sort of
action
is applied.
